Although taken from the Bible, this statement is as true today as it has ever been. Today, however, it means that people’s financial security and future is being destroyed, simply through lack of knowledge or of wanting to stick their heads in the sand like an ostrich, pretending this global financial meltdown is magically going to go away. It isn’t. It’s here to stay.
The main challenge is the ageing population. This is putting pressure on pensions and healthcare. If you consider that with £100,000 in a pension pot, retiring at age 55, you will only get a pension of £364 a month and even if you defer taking that pension to age 74 it still won’t be much more than £700 a month.
